This is to point out to you t...Dear Mr. Bhaskar,
This is to point out to you that "Tamil Nadu's propaganda mill" is very effective in sowing the seeds of mistrust about our politicians in your mind (well, their actions most of the time justify such mistrust among people). Of course "Jayalalithaa’s allegation needs to be examined". However, you can do so right away, without "an independent people’s tribunal to ascertain the facts". Just visit wikimpia at the following link:

http://wikimapia.org/#lat=9.5294852&lon=77.1832466&z=13&l=0&m=b&v=8

The water spread area of Mullaperiyar dam is clearly marked. The satellite image cannot be more than six months old. You can zoom in and find for yourself that the water spread area is surrounded completely by forest and that there are no buildings at all in the water spread area and its vicinity.

So the correct answers to your legitimate question "....why did Tamil Nadu allow the leased land in its possession to be grabbed by resort builders" are that no body grabbed any land in mullaeriyar dam's water spread area and that Tamil Nadu CM was lying through her teeth.
Regards
Tomy Scaria
ChennaiTomshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03760557409876388187noreply@blogger.com
